A-Blast
President's Message:
January 31, 2023
I hope all is well with each of you!
On January 21st we got our year kicked off with onboarding our new Executive Council members and committee chairs. I’m excited to see the growth and passion in the room. We have grown to 15 EC members and committee chairs!
Later that evening, we had a phenomenal event unveiling our ALATA Hall of Fame Plaque and dinner at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. We had a great time sharing stories of old and inspirations of a better future from the over 1000 years of experience that came together for dinner and the unveiling. Thanks to the keystone works of our former EC At-Large member and current Hall of Fame Committee Chair Alyson Gramley, Ed Harris, and years of efforts from a number of other individuals our Hall of Fame and its members are right where they belong - housed in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
On Sunday the 21st we had our first full EC meeting. I’m very excited about the conversations, debates, and ideas that came about from our time together. 2023 will be a very special year for ALATA, our members, and our profession in the state!
Save the date for next year's Clinical Symposium and Members Meeting which will be held in Birmingham at the Trussville Civic Center on June 2-4, 2023! We will have approximately 15 CEUs available with the opportunity to opt-in to an additional day for more CEUs. In 2024 we will be returning to the beach!

Please share it with your peers!
Your Membership Matters!
Renewal of your NATA membership acts as a one-stop shop and pays your dues for all three levels: NATA, regional district, and state. Many of our initiatives are funded by membership dollars at the NATA, SEATA, and ALATA Levels. These range from the thousands of dollars for our monumental AT Law Update in 2021, to keeping registration costs minimal for our annual CSMM, and offering scholarships, awards, and other opportunities to our members. While NATA membership is encouraged we do understand that NATA membership is not always feasible. If this is your case, reach out to me directly at president@alathletictrainers.org for an ALATA-only membership for $32 to stay up to date and receive all of the benefits of state membership. ALATA receives a higher benefit from NATA membership than ALATA-only membership. Not sure what all of those benefits are? Contact me directly for more information!
Renewing your membership with NATA is an investment for yourself and the future of your profession! Contact us with any questions on the benefits of membership at the NATA, SEATA, or ALATA levels!
