Scholarship Eligibility

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above

  • Be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer who is a current member in good standing with the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association

  • Be a student member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association

  • Be enrolled in a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program in the state of Alabama (*Bachelor's Degree Applicants*)

  • *Bachelor's Degree candidates must be at least a Junior in good standing*

  • Intend to pursue the profession of athletic training or related field as a means of his/her livelihood

  • Submit a transcript including most recent semester

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from someone other than the supervising athletic trainer  

  • Submit a one-page biographical description including a statement as to why he or she feels that they should be awarded the scholarship

  • Have his or her supervising athletic trainer complete the Sponsoring Athletic Trainer's Evaluation Form (automatically emailed up application submission)

  • Agree to photograph published in the ALATA Newsletter, an ALATA A-Blast, and/or on the ALATA website

  • Note - Preference may be given to those NOT currently on full scholarship
